How to Find Blocked Numbers on iPhone

Checking the List of Blocked Numbers on iPhone

If you have blocked someone on your iPhone and want to check the list of blocked numbers, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Phone” or “Messages”, depending on which app you used to block the number.
  3. Select “Blocked Contacts” or “Blocked” (if you are using iOS 13 or earlier).
  4. You will now see a list of all the numbers that you have blocked on your iPhone.

From here, you can add or remove numbers from the blocked list as needed. Keep in mind that if you remove a number from the blocked list, they will be able to call or message you again.

Removing Numbers from the Blocked List

If you have previously blocked a number on your iPhone and want to remove it from the list of blocked numbers, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Phone” or “Messages”, depending on which app you used to block the number.
  3. Select “Blocked Contacts” or “Blocked” (if you are using iOS 13 or earlier).
  4. Swipe left on the number you want to unblock.
  5. Tap on “Unblock” to remove the number from the blocked list.

After removing the number from the blocked list, you will be able to receive calls and messages from that number again.

Identifying Blocked Calls and Messages

If you’re unsure whether you’ve blocked a number or not, there are a few ways to check.

For calls, when a blocked number tries to call you, you won’t receive a notification or see any sign that they called. Instead, the call will be automatically sent to voicemail. You can check your voicemail to see if the blocked number left a message.

For messages, when a blocked number sends you a message, you won’t receive a notification or see the message in your inbox. Instead, the message will be delivered to a separate folder called “Blocked Messages”. You can access this folder by opening the Messages app, tapping on the three dots in the top-right corner, and selecting “Blocked Contacts”. From there, you can view any messages that were sent by blocked numbers.

Keep in mind that if you’ve deleted a conversation with a blocked number, you won’t be able to see any messages they’ve sent you in the past.

Troubleshooting Call Blocking Issues on iPhone

If you’re experiencing issues with call blocking on your iPhone, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem:

  1. Make sure that the number you want to block is saved as a contact in your phone. If it’s not saved as a contact, the block feature may not work properly.
  2. Check that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements to call blocking functionality.
  3. Restart your iPhone by holding down the power button until the “slide to power off” slider appears. Slide the slider to turn off your phone, then hold down the power button again to turn it back on.
  4. Reset your iPhone’s network settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will erase all saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth connections, so make sure you have these handy before resetting.
  5. Contact your carrier to ensure that call blocking is enabled on your account and that there are no issues with your service.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Apple support for further assistance.

Understanding iPhone’s Call Blocking Feature

The call blocking feature on iPhone allows you to block phone calls, FaceTime calls, and text messages from specific numbers. When a number is blocked, calls and messages from that number are automatically sent to voicemail or a separate “Blocked Messages” folder.

Here are a few things to keep in mind about call blocking on iPhone:

  • Blocking a number will prevent calls and messages from that number, but it won’t prevent the number from appearing in your call log or message history.
  • If you have “Silence Unknown Callers” enabled, calls from numbers not in your contacts list will be automatically sent to voicemail. This is different from call blocking, as the numbers are not specifically blocked, but rather, unknown.
  • If you’re using an iPhone on a family plan, blocking a number on one device will block it on all devices on the same plan.
  • Blocked numbers can still leave voicemail messages, but you won’t receive a notification for them.
  • If you block a number and then later unblock it, any voicemail messages they left while blocked will still be in your voicemail.
